The jar is BPA-free for your peace of mind and can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher between uses. Pair this jar with the included lid and band to seal your goods for months to come. To prepare your lid for sealing, place it in a pot and cover it with water. Bring the water to a simmer (180 degrees Fahrenheit / 80 degrees Celsius) for 10 minutes before using which will to activate the sealing compound. Once sealed, a lid cannot be reused to create a vacuum seal again, although it may serve as a temporary cover for short-term storage. The band can stand up to multiple uses and should be handwashed to avoid rust.
